Northern Lights over The Friendly Village

I got up at 2:00am this morning with plans to shoot the Milky Way. But when checking the weather apps for clear skies, I discovered that the sun had a different plan for me. My NOAA Soft Serve Aurora Borealis Alert was going off. Due to recent activity on the surface of the sun, a swarm of highly charged particles was slamming into the Earth's magnetic field, causing a mad rush of the particles to the poles. According to the app, the forecast was at STORM LEVEL! That is exactly how it appears, all caps and very excited!
So I made a mad dash to Crystal Lake in the Friendly Village and as I walked out on the frozen surface, I could clearly see white ribbons and spikes dancing in the sky. All of a sudden, the -2 degrees air temp didn't mean too much to me. I was filled with excitement, glee, awe, wonder and about 27 other adjectives all at once! Hope you enjoy seeing what I saw as much as I did!
