Aurora over Harrison

Going through my images from last nights naked-eye-dancing-pillars-of-light-in-the-sky Aurora show, I wanted to share this one. It's the very first image of the night I took. I was still a bit breathless from the excitement and activity of bolting from my house and making the 5 minute drive in exactly 2.7 minutes, running to the shores of the lake by flashlight toting a camera pack, thermos, and coffee mug, coming to a stop at the edge of the ice looking and looking up seeing columns of dim white light dancing in the sky. Holy Cow!
My camera wasn't even leveled yet, so I had to straighten and crop quite a bit. I was lighting up the foreground to work on my composition, and there is traffic going down Rt. 117. I was literally still trying to catch my breath and calm my mind to focus on capturing such a beauty light storm in the sky.
A very exhilarating experience along with the jolt of energy and passion that I love so much in trying to capture Mother Nature at her best! This is why I do what I do!
